Yesterday, I showed you a baby card with dry embossed hearts using the Adorning Accents embossing folders. Today, I have a beautiful "You are in my Thoughts" card using both the Adorning Accents folder and Edglit die.
You can see how crisp the dry embossing is and how it beautifully corresponds with the cut edge using the Adorning Accents Die.
I love dry embossing using embossing folders and my Big Shot. These hearts are imprinted into my cardstock with the new Adorning Accents embossing folder set that contains three embossing folders:
Better yet, these embossing folders correspond to a gorgeous Edglit set so you can cut your cardstock to match the embossing or vice versa. I'll show you a card with that tomorrow :).

Check out how easy it is to rubber stamp your own backgrounds. All you need is three or four favorite colors and three or four favorite stamps and you can create beautiful backgrounds yourself!
Here is a gorgeous card and below you will find a quick video that shows you how to stamp the background:
Do you see how the background ties in with the other things in teh card?
The ribbon and brad match the color of the crown!
The card base (So Saffron) is in the background with the "diagonal thingies"!
The center image matches the background (Cherry Cobbler)!
Now it's your turn. Grab some stamps and ink pads and stamp away!!! Don't be scared. Rubber stamping is a trial and error process and my best creations have happened when I tried to hide a mistake with a pretty ribbon or another embellishment. By the way, isn't the brad in the center amazing???? Here is the link to that gorgeous In-color Designer Printed Brad.
Are you in love with these fun and gorgous stamp sets, stop by my 24/7 online ruber stamping SU! store to add them to your collection. If you have questions on this or other techniques, do post them in the comment section below.
Do you want your flowers to pop out on your card? Then use some fancy brads. I've got In-Color Glimmer Brads on this card and I have to say I really, really like them. These flowers are my favorite!!!
The Glimmer Brads are larger than yesterday's small brads and that means they also have longer "prongs" on the back. This makes them the perfect choice when you want to make large flowers with LOTS OF LAYERS!!!
Of course, Stampin' Up! has Glimmer Brads in several color families so click here to see your entire selection! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow, when I will ask you to vote on your favorite card out of this set!
I find this card with the small brad in the matching color truly special because it leaves the focus on the background and overall composition of the card.
When you look at the other two cards, you see what I mean because their brads really put the focus on themselves and the flowers they are in.
Stampin' Up! has amazing brads for all of your needs. Here is a great link to view them all.
What I love about them most, is that they are organized by color family just like the paper is. So if you prefer rich, earthy colors, you want to choose the Regals Collection. If you are more into subtle, soothing colors, you get your paper, inks and embellishments in the Subtles or Neutrals collection. But you can also mix and match very easily between them all.

Brads are a great way to personalize your cards. Here I have three birthday cards for you that have different personalities because I used different brads. Otherwise they'd be identical!
Here is the recipe for the identical parts:
The base is constructed with Crumb Cake cardstock (8.5 by 4.25, scored at 4.25).
The background paper (5.25" by 4.25") from the Everyday Enchantement DSP which is a sneak peak from the new SAB brochure. SAB starts January 24th!!!
The greeting is from the stamp set Upsy Daisyand I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock (2" by 4" and torn on one edge) with Pool Party ink.
The flower stem is from the set For All You Do and I stamped in Always Artichoke to be a bit darker than the Lucky Limeade in the DSP.
The flowers are cut from the same DSP as the background but this is the reverse side. I cut them with my Big Shot and the Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die. They are popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional.
Brads are such a fun and great embellishment that I will talk about them in the next three posts. So come and see me tomorrow!

I don't know about you, but I like for all my cards to reflect the personality of the person I make the card for. I can't help it because as I make the card, I think of the person and his or her personality creeps into the card.
When I set out to make a card for my friend Traci, I immediately went for my favorite stamp set and surrounded the girl with whimsical colors from Traci's house. Thanks for being my friend!
The Stocking Builder Punch will not be carried over from the Holiday Mini Catalog so order yours before it is too late!
You have probably seen lots of cute Christmas cards with this punch but one of my favorite ways to use this punch is for baby cards! All you have to do is to trim the stocking down to "bootie" size. Is that easy or what?
Do you have baby birthdays or baby announcements this spring on your card making list?
Today I am sharing this graduation money holder card that I made for Amanda from my Sunday School class. It took her 7 years to achieve her dream but now she is a registered nurse!!!
It is Sunday and I challenge you to dig through your scraps and left over pieces to create something beautiful without cutting a new piece of cardstock (except for the card base):
All my butterflies were left over from other projects and here they look great together!
I love the clean look of this card and it is sooo easy to make punch art musical notes! You need an oval punch and then something for the "flag" part of your note. In my case, I used a swirly piece from a retired Big Shot die. Just look around at your punches and see what you have that will work for you :).
Then pick some pretty background paper and you are done!
This week's MOJO Monday inspired me to create a Christmas card using the Layering Technique. I really wanted to use the Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper but didn't have a piece featuring Santa Claus. I did have several scraps with parts of Santa, so I built the picture of Santa like a puzze by layering the pieces on top of each other creating this really cool card:
The side view really shows off the layers:
This is a really great way to give your cards depth and a three dimensional look. I encourage you to try it and to leave me comments on how you like it. If you don't have this amazing Letters to Santa paper yet, click here to order it from my online store!
